Arts & Health also provides visual arts programming at Duke Eye Center, allowing people with visual impairments, as well as other patients, visitors and staff, to enjoy art in a dynamic way.

Touchable Art Gallery
Located near the main entrance to Duke Eye Center, the Touchable Art Gallery offers a hands-on experience for gallery visitors. Patients, family members and friends are encouraged to visit the gallery while they wait for appointments or surgical procedures. Special tours are available. Docents are available to guide visitors through experiencing the artwork.
 
The rotating gallery features touchable sculptures, fabric works and paintings from all over the world, including Africa, the Americas, China, Southeast Asia and Europe. Touchable works are made from a variety of materials, including bronze, clay, wood, stone and natural fibers.
 
Reception Gallery
Located at the reception entrance of Duke Eye Center, this gallery features a wide variety of three-dimensional work by local and regional artists. Work is often available for purchase and docents are available to assist buyers.

Connector Gallery
Located in the walkway between Duke Eye Center and the Albert Eye Research Institute, this light-filled gallery exhibits two-dimensional work by local and regional artists and traveling exhibitions. Artwork is often available for purchase. The gallery is easily accessible from the Eye Center reception area.

Pediatric Art Cart

The Pediatric Art Cart brings art activities to children and families who are waiting for appointments and surgeries at Duke Eye Center. Trained volunteers encourage creativity, demonstrate with materials and help instruct on art-making techniques.
